  • CLIC-trained adults who are interested in camping with their affiliated youth group(s) may camp at Scout Hollow.

  • No, unfortunately we don’t currently have the capacity to accommodate camping that is open to the general public. This campground is intended for the specific use by youth groups with an adult who has attended one of our overnight CLIC trainings.

  • Our Camping Leadership Immersion Course is for Detroit area youth workers who are interested in utilizing our gear library lending system and camping in the campground we manage, Scout Hollow. To learn more and see upcoming training dates, please click here.

  • Yes! Internally and through many of our partner organizations we have events and offer different programming throughout the year. The best way to keep up to date with the programs that we have available is to check our calendar or visit the Bold and Gold, Sierra Club, or Detroit Parks and Recreation pages to see what programs they are running at the moment.

  • To gain access to our gear library you must go though our CLIC Training first. This training is for youth serving organizations or people who work with youth. After you have completed the training, you will have to our gear and may borrow it for your upcoming trip!

  • Ice Fest happens every year in Munising, MI. While Detroit Outdoors does travel an annual trip to Ice Fest the spots on this trip are limited. If you are interested in attending we encourage you to visit the Ice Fest website to learn more about the festival.
